In 2012, students throughout the thumb area of Michigan were assigned the task of creating a PSA addressing the question, “What does the Blue Water Film Festival mean to the community and me?”
The winners, Steve Rhein a 2012 graduate and Juleana Cain a class of 2013 student from St. Clair High School were the winners. Each received a $5000 scholarship to the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan, based in Troy.
In 2011, the students of St. Clair TEC were assigned the task of creating a commercial for the Blue Water Film Festival. The videos were :30 seconds long and required to incorporate the excitement of the festival. The two winners were each awarded $500 scholarships courtesy of E&A Credit Union.
These commercials aired locally at Krafft 8 in Fort Gratiot and throughout the 2011 BWFF. Congratulations to the St. Clair TEC Digital Media Technology student winners, Jeff Sprotberry of Marysville and Shelby Gulette of Algonac.
